Traditional Forums that feature one presenting company facing a particular challenge. As part of the presentation, a panel of experts then offers a critique/analysis of the featured business strategy. Satellite downlinks from MIT that feature some of the greatest minds in technology and business including such luminaries as Lester C. Thurow, Guy Kawasaki and Bob Langer. Along with Special Events such as the “Elevator Pitch” a popular networking event centered on pitches to investors.

Audiences typically reach approximately 80 – 120 attendees.

The Pittsburgh Golf ClubForums are usually held at the Pittsburgh Golf Club (just off Forbes on Northumberland Street – next to Schenley Park) and satellite downlink programs are typically held at the Seagate offices in the Strip District. Check the specific program announcement for the event you are attending for site details.
SeagateThe events also provide extensive networking opportunities around a light buffet meal and a bar.

Traditional Forum
Traditional Forums bring together many of the region's top high-tech minds in a unique forum that showcases the business plans of local start-ups, along with their proposed growth strategies. As part of the presentation, a panel of business experts then offers their own critique/analysis of the strategy before an audience of other entrepreneurs, financiers and other high-tech executives.

D

Downlink
The MIT Enterprise Forum headquarters in Cambridge puts on three events per year where a nationally renowned speaker or panel takes on a topic or issue of significance for entrepreneurs. These events are broadcast live by satellite to the local MIT Enterprise Forum chapters who participate interactively during the Q&A segment of the program.

S

Special Event
A few events each season will focus on other entrepreneurship topics presented in a unique and interactive format. One such event, is the popular “Elevator Pitch” where emerging and high growth companies are pre-screened and then selected to have the opportunity to present their company to a panel of investors and entrepreneurs in 90 seconds. If you are seeking funds, the exposure and experience is tremendous. If you are an investor, you could find a new opportunity. At the very least, you will hear how other investors make quick decisions on whether or not to "take a meeting."
